๐งบ Solid-Liquid Leaching Calculator
Estimate solute recovery from solids using single-stage washing or countercurrent multi-stage Kremser-style leaching. Outputs recovery, wash ratio and required stage count.

๐ Calculation Methodology
Mathematical Model
The calculator models ideal equilibrium washing/leaching with retained underflow solution and fresh solvent. Multi-stage countercurrent behavior is estimated with a Kremser-style extraction factor.
Worked Example
A solid feed with Xโ = 0.15 kg/kg dry solid is washed using V/U = 1.6 over 5 stages. The engine computes residual loading after each stage and reports total solute recovery and stage requirement for a target recovery.
Assumptions
- Constant underflow retention.
- Ideal stage equilibrium.
- Fresh solvent contains negligible solute.
- No particle diffusion kinetics or incomplete mixing correction included.
