Mathematical Model
The calculator uses a linear liquid-liquid equilibrium distribution coefficient and stage-wise phase balances. Countercurrent mode applies a Kremser/Hunter-Nash style extraction factor approximation.
Worked Example
For a feed with xF = 0.12 and solvent-to-feed ratio S/F = 0.8 with KD = 2.1, the extraction factor is E = 1.68. The calculator evaluates raffinate composition, extract composition, and recovery across stages.
