๐ Calculation Methodology
Mathematical Model
The flow rate is derived from Bernoulli's equation applied between the pipe upstream section and the throat. The discharge coefficient corrects for real-fluid effects.
Worked Example
For a 100 mm pipe with 50 mm throat, water at 25ยฐC and ฮP = 25 kPa, the engine iterates Cd, computes Q and reports the operating Reynolds number.
Assumptions
- Steady, incompressible flow (or with expansion factor for gas).
- ISO 5167-style venturi discharge coefficient correlation.
- Fully developed upstream velocity profile.
- No cavitation check included.
